In concert, Chris' style finds a balance of 'acoustic folk' on both piano and guitar. The clear tenor voice moves gently from familiar tunes to original interpretations of artists such as James Taylor and John Denver, and then to his own heartfelt compositions. Writing and performing his songs has given Chris a true sense of expression…the ability to share his music as well as himself. With compelling lyrics and melodies that both comfort and inspire the listener, audiences have responded to his original music with great enthusiasm. Here is the voice you will remember… join this passionate troubadour as he takes you on a unique journey. Experience his ability to connect with people through song in a way that is deep and enduring… transforming a simple tune into a celebration…touching all who are fortunate enough to be a part of Christopher Westfall's musical tapestry. Born in Norristown, Pennsylvania in 1971, Chris realized a connection to acoustic music when he was just four years old. Performing since the age of 12, Chris later began formal voice training with Gary Farquhar of the Julliard School and Julia Price of Rutgers University. Although a self-taught accomplished pianist with the ability to read and compose music, Chris received formal guitar training from David Gladkowski. In concert, Chris' style finds a balance of 'acoustic folk'. The clear tenor voice moves gently from familiar folk tunes to original interpretations of artists such as James Taylor and John Denver, and then to his own heartfelt compositions. What a wonderful message he shares with us in his introspective "I'm Coming Home" and his lyrical celebration of the holiday season with "Know It's Christmas". Hearing Chris in a live performance for the first time, people find themselves touched by his compassion. He encourages the audience to sing along…and by doing so, strangers become friends, brought together by the spirit of the music. With every song, Chris possesses the magical ability to hold the audience in his gentle grasp…making each listener feel he sings only for them, which, in truth, he does. In 1998, Chris released a solo album entitled "Kindred Spirits". In addition to "Give Yourself to Love" by Kate Wolf and "Boy From the Country" by Michael Murphy, the recording featured the self-penned "No Difference". Future plans include a CD of original music and a release of holiday tunes, a personal favorite of his. Writing and performing his own songs has given Chris a true sense of expression…the ability to share his music as well as himself.
